Discover the Cliffs of Fundy UNESCO Global Geopark on this 3 day/2 night discovery tour package. Witness world’s highest tides, tidal beaches and soaring cliffs, go on guided gem and mineral tour and explore a slot canyon and waterfall with local guides.
Package Itinerary:
- Day 1: Arrive Parrsboro and check in at Gillespie House Inn for orientation, visit to Ottawa House Historical Museum and do a beach walk with short hike to lookout tower at Partridge Island. Visit Two Islands Brewing to sample local craft beer with complimentary tasting flight;
- Day 2: Full day Gem and Mineral Tour with Brian Hebert, the experienced naturalist owner of Fundy Treasures and Tours. The tour will include a guided visit to Fundy Geological Museum where you will learn more about the geological and fossil history of the Parrsboro Shore – lunch included, overnight at Gillespie House Inn:
- Day 3: Morning hike on a back country trail to a remote slot canyon and waterfall with Local Guy Adventures. Your guide grew up in this areas and has spent many years exploring the back country. After the hike enjoy a picnic lunch; depart Parrsboro.
Gem and Mineral Tour: Join us on a 4 hour gem and mineral tour within the Cliffs of Fundy Geopark to discover geological treasures! We will learn how to identify different crystals, minerals, agates and jaspers and how these different minerals and gems were formed over 200 million years ago as we explore different geological formations along the Parrsboro shore. Highlights of your tour will include a guided tour of the Fundy Geological Museum, and 3 hour guided gem and mineral tour of the Parrsboro shore with a visit to Nova Scotia’s own “Jurassic beach”, the site of Canada’s oldest dinosaurs and a delicious lunch at the beach.
Slot Canyon and Waterfall Trek: Step back-in-time on this guided hiking tour within the Cliffs of Fundy Geopark. Feel like you’re in Jurassic world as you make your way past beautiful spectacular waterfalls, old-growth forest, and trek through one of the only three slot canyons in Nova Scotia. Be wowed as the nearly 200-ft canyon walls make way for lush, mossy forest. Lunch will be provided.
