Nova Scotia Gem and Mineral Show and Sale
The Nova Scotia Gem and Mineral Show and Sale began in 1966 as the Rockhound Roundup in Parrsboro, NS. The event has over 30 high quality vendors from across North America. The event offers a showcase for geological treasures, spectacular gems, minerals, jewelry and metal work. The show is a very family friendly event. Along with sales there are also demonstrations to let you know what it is like to work with gems and minerals or shape metal work design.
There are outdoor tours along the coast where the you can visit and learn about the local geology and hear about the dinosaurs that used to roam the area. There is even an option to pan for gold!
The Parrsboro area also has so much to offer. Make a weekend of it and include a play or musical group at the Ship’s Company Theatre. Dine in one of our restaurants for local clams and chips. Check out the boiling tides, hiking trail at Partridge Island. Visit the Ottawa House to learn some of the history related to Parrsboro.
Explore the many beaches in the area and see if you can find some agate, jasper or amethyst.
