Listen to tales of local Rum Runners and their notorious escapades. Meet some of the rogues that frequented the Parrsboro shore, including American privateers, rowdy sailors, boisterous Springhill miners and their Parrsboro adversaries and the Ballad of the infamous Slugger Dunkerson. See where the guilty and innocent were tried for their alleged crimes and locked up for their actions. Glimpse the lives and locations of Parrsboro’s wealthiest and most innovative lumber barons.
Tour details: Hosted by Dr. Jeff Orr, PhD. Walking tours are $15 per person, cash only, with all proceeds supporting the restoration of Parrsboro’s historic signs.
Tour departs from the harbour front across from the Art Lab and Crow’s Nest on Lower Main Street; custom group tours may be arranged at other times by contacting Jeff. The walking tour is approximately one km with several rest stops and some hills.
